Working at Akerboom
Looking for: Craftsmen and women with a passion for technology
Akerboom Yacht Equipment (AYE), a subsidiary of the De Vries Group, is a modern project organization that combines traditional craftsmanship with the latest technologies. We build complex yacht equipment for the most beautiful superyachts and provide service to the sailing fleet. Refitting these yachts is also part of our activities. We do this with about 140 employees. Our people work in various disciplines within teams for engineering and production, installation, and service.
We have office roles – such as HR, Finance, and Project Management – as well as craftsmanship roles in the workshops. The workshops are the domain of specialized professionals such as welders and mechanics. Experienced staff work together with colleagues in training.
Currently, we are looking for a Foreman with a background in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, maritime technology, or mechanical engineering.
As a Foreman for Installation, you will plan and organize the work in such a way that the equipment is assembled on time, installed in the yacht, and commissioned. You will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained. You also need to have a strong presence and oversight of the tasks and the team. You will be the point of contact for your team.
Your team consists of 5 Team Leaders. The Installation team is part of the Production department, which consists of 57 employees in total.
Do people recognize you as an enthusiastic, enterprising personality who naturally takes the lead? If yes, we would love to meet you soon! We will answer any questions you have and tell you what we expect from you as our potential new Foreman. We will also inform you about our excellent working conditions and benefits, especially when it comes to working abroad. Of course, we’d be happy to show you around the company.
